Setton Farms Helps Raise Over $100,000 for Class Act Sports Foundation Physical Education Programs

Setton Farms, the nation’s second largest pistachio processor and maker of Pistachio Chewy Bites, recently sponsored the Inaugural Class Act Sports Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic. With the help of participating sponsors, attending celebrities and event golfers, the golf outing raised over $100,000 to support the Class Act Sports Foundation's mission of increasing awareness about the importance of leading a healthy, active lifestyle through youth physical education programs and opportunities.

The Class Act Sports Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic was in full swing at the Eisenhower Red Golf Course in East Meadow, New York, where numerous sports and entertainment celebrities teamed up and teed off to raise awareness and money for the foundation’s charity. Attendees included legendary NBA star, Julius "Dr. J" Erving, NFL Hall of Famer, Jonathan Ogden, Mykelti Williamson also know as “Bubba” from the blockbuster film, Forrest Gump, NBA Hall of Fame star, Artis Gilmore, Richard Karn, also known as “Al” from the hit show, Home Improvement and many more.

"We were so excited to help raise funds and to be a part of the Inaugural Class Act Sports Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic,” says Mia Cohen, chief operating officer of Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. “We believe every child should have the opportunity to learn how to live a full life by staying active and eating healthy.”

Class Act Sports was founded by Jared Ginsberg in 2009 to allow fans a “beyond the game” and “behind the scenes” look at athletes on and off the playing field. Ginsberg, furthered the mission of the company by creating the Class Act Sports Foundation, making sports and physical education programs accessible to underprivileged kids. Victor Green, a member of the Jets’ All-Decade team, is also an integral member of the Class Act Sports Foundation and helps the organization accomplish its goals by connecting well-known athletes with the foundation.
